Kickboxer: Vengeance is a 2016 reboot of the original series, and has a similar premise as the first film in the franchise. The film was released in select theaters and Video on Demand on September 2, 2016, by RLJ Entertainment.

It is an American martial arts film directed by John Stockwell. Starring Alain Moussi, Jean-Claude Van Damme (who played Kurt Sloane in the original Kickboxer film series), Dave Bautista, Gina Carano, Georges St-Pierre and Darren Shahlavi (in his final film role).

Living in Venice, California, Eric and Kurt Sloane come from a long line of martial artists. After Eric wins the Karate World Championship, a promoter lures him to Thailand despite his brother’s protests. There his brother is brutally killed by the fighter Tong Po, Muay Thai champion. Kurt travels to Thailand and trains with the legendary Master Durand to avenge his brother’s death.
