FIRST REFORMED Movie Trailer (2018)

First Reformed is a 2017 American drama thriller film directed by Paul Schrader. It stars Ethan Hawke as an ex-military chaplain, who is tortured by the death of his son he encouraged to enlist in the armed forces.

His faith is further challenged after a young woman (Amanda Seyfried) and her radical environmentalist husband come to him for counseling. The film was screened in the main competition section of the 74th Venice International Film Festival. It is scheduled to be released on May 18, 2018 by A24.

A pastor of a small church in upstate New York starts to spiral out of control after a soul-shaking encounter with an unstable environmental activist and his pregnant wife.
