TANKS FOR STALIN – In 1940, after the defeat of the Red Army at Khalkha a year earlier, and while Russia is preparing to go to war against Nazi Germany, a new model of tank must be sent secretly to Moscow to be presented, during a military parade in Stalin.
However, the latter prohibits the transport of the tank by train and its public demonstration until it has been tested on the ground to ensure its indestructible strength. Manufactured in a Kharkov factory by engineers and metallurgists, the T-34 turns out to be an armored vehicle with great firepower. Its designer, Mikhaïl Kochkine, and a few workers decided to go beyond Stalin’s order and smuggle more than 800 kilometers, passing through the Soviet countryside, into two prototypes to prove their military overpower. However, their road quickly proves to be strewn with pitfalls and turns into a race against the clock to arrive in time on Red Square. Pursued by the Nazis, Kochkin took the opportunity to prove the power of his new tanks as well as the superiority of the Soviet army…
